IGF-DES Overview

Mechanism of Action

IGF-DES (Des(1-3) IGF-1) is a truncated IGF-1 analog lacking the first 3 N-terminal amino acids. This prevents binding to IGF-binding proteins, giving ~10x greater receptor binding affinity at tissue level. Its very short half-life makes it ideal for localized, site-specific injection near target tissue.

IGF-DES or IGF-1 LR3?

IGF-DES has short half-life (~20 min) with very high local potency for site-specific effects. IGF-1 LR3 has long half-life (~20+ hr) for systemic anabolic support.

Why inject near target muscle?

Due to its extremely short half-life, IGF-DES acts primarily where injected, delivering concentrated growth factor signaling before clearance.
