CJC-1295 (DAC) Overview

Mechanism of Action

CJC-1295 with DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) is a GHRH analog identical to CJC-1295 (no DAC) but conjugated to a lysine-linked maleimidopropionic acid that binds covalently to serum albumin in vivo. This dramatically extends the half-life from ~30 minutes to ~8 days, producing sustained GH and IGF-1 elevation rather than acute pulses. The constant GH elevation can be beneficial but may cause more side effects than the pulsatile no-DAC version.

Half-Life

~8 days (due to albumin binding)

Timing

Any time of day (long half-life makes timing less critical)

Injection Site

Subcutaneous, abdomen

Food

No specific requirements

Common Stacks

  • Can be used standalone — not typically combined with other GHRH agents

CJC-1295 (DAC) Research Studies

Prolonged stimulation of growth hormone and IGF-1 secretion by CJC-1295

Teichman SL, Neale A, Lawrence B, et al. — J Clin Endocrinol Metab (2006)

Demonstrated single doses of CJC-1295 produced sustained GH and IGF-1 elevation for 6+ days, with mean GH levels increasing 2–10-fold.

CJC-1295 (DAC) FAQ

Should I use CJC-1295 with or without DAC?

Most practitioners prefer the no-DAC version because it produces natural GH pulses that mimic physiology. The DAC version creates constant GH elevation, which can cause more water retention and side effects. The DAC version is better suited for those who want less frequent injections (once weekly vs nightly).

Can I combine CJC-1295 with DAC with Ipamorelin?

While possible, it’s less common than the no-DAC + Ipamorelin combination. Since CJC-1295 with DAC already produces sustained GH elevation, adding a GHRP may not be necessary and could increase side effects.
