Mechanism of Action
Thymosin Alpha-1 (TA1) is a 28-amino-acid peptide naturally produced by the thymus gland. It enhances T-cell maturation (both CD4+ helper and CD8+ cytotoxic T cells), activates dendritic cells and natural killer cells, and modulates inflammatory cytokine production. TA1 is approved as a drug (Zadaxin®) in over 35 countries for hepatitis B and as an immune adjuvant.
